I want to make sure we don't resume in any work that could be construed as unethical. If you have any work that you have done until this point I don't want you to be put out, I'm happy to pay for any work done so everybody is whole. Let me know if that is the case. I hope I didn't waste much of your time.

I would have loved to explore this relationship before making any decisions with my current employer, but it is starting to feel like they may be holding me back. Are you still interested in help if my situation changes?
