# #ccsd-water-ignition — 2025-08-13 **07:52 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755096765898889):** @andy the ball is rolling for change. Im expecting a meeting today to discuss with all the appropriate people. I am planning on using my vacation and sick time while they figure out the transition to free me up to help here. If you have some time today it would be helpful to go over the pump and tank objects you have, test the links to the UDT and test the faceplates. I was either testing the wrong objects or things weren't working. Theres a lot going on in there. It will help to both witness what works, what needs to be changed or updated, and style. **09:07 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755101255487209):** Yes let’s meet, I can fit you in before I head out to the field. Can you meet in 10 minutes ish? **09:08 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755101311288929):** yes **09:20 [Slackbot](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755102051845529):** **13:24 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755116652996959):** @andy can you help me understand this: ```SSWF wells and P-1500, 16, 17 are the same. Just remove the SSWF wells as they don't work that way, ``` **13:24 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755116662225059):** do not display those 3 pumps on the overview page? **13:27 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755116827740259):** SSWF W1 is P-1500, SSWF W2 is P-1600, and SSWF W3 is P-1700, and there are no wells that feed the WRF. I want the three wells listed above on the overview page, under Pine Knolls as you have the three wells there **13:28 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755116882137969):** ah. i see it **13:28 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755116889511319):** cool **13:29 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755116959439379):** WBE is not on the drawing. is there a storage tank? display just a pump? or a pump and tank **13:41 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755117675706219):** ![[F09ABGTR0B0_image.png]] **13:41 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755117699211839):** the small page for the well overview looks like this.. is this just mess left over from copying the project? **13:41 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755117705651289):** It is a Monitoring well it’s just an analog value **13:42 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755117726084349):** All of the small pages are a mess from copying from the project, all trash **13:42 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755117732214669):** got it **13:42 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755117740035629):** analog value from that monitoring well is well level? **13:59 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755118755122639):** the SR3 and SR4 feeding into pine knolls. should those be tank objects? how should we represent those visually? **13:59 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755118768778949):** those are water treatment plants **13:59 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755118781859469):** A simple click box? **14:01 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755118881157909):** copy **14:10 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755119431539559):** ![[F09B2P18ERW_image.png]] **14:11 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755119473149469):** work in progress.. but if i post screenshots as i go, you can steer me in real time.. (and if you have time of course) **14:11 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755119497910269):** (this is the ipad resolution) **14:13 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755119586739219):** Nice, that looks good, the rodeo boosters make sense to be to the left of Stuart tank **14:14 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755119657699279):** perfect. ok looking at the drawings those pumps pull from pine knolls to feed stuart? i'll try to line them up appropriately **14:17 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755119870646689):** Yeah that’s correct **14:18 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755119881923299):** Then Stuart boosters boost up to fiscalini **14:19 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755119990732189):** thank you sir **14:32 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755120766500649):** I just had my WWTP project reach out saying they want me to get another section ready with control strategies, logic and some accompanying UI on Ignition that I want you to work on next (or possibly before this work is complete depending on your progress). I hope its not overwhelming but rather that there is more good work officially lined up for you. **14:33 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755120804111589):** i mean that is a great thing. let me keep clearing the path. **14:34 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755120882105869):** I have a 4 pump water booster pump system that needs programming (not urgent, due to electricians being behind but I'm in contract), that's for the city of Paso **14:35 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755120919559699):** There will be more sections of the WWTP project that will be going online over the next 6 months too **14:35 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755120930966409):** if we can use my AOIs for some of this work eventually i promise you it will speed things up orders of magnitude. **14:35 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755120947108519):** if we're ready to step away from PAX with ignition **14:36 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755121002673619):** I'm open to it, I'll want to see your AOIs more, I've liked what I've seen so far **14:37 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755121056646639):** maybe if a small stand alone project pops up **14:39 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755121157339329):** I'm looking at this from the perspective of taking care of these for the next 10 - 20 years, and all my projects are built using PAX objects. so from a support perspective, and ongoing development, it makes sense for me at the moment. **14:41 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755121303476809):** i get that for sure. you are invested as well. my opinion is a seasoned programmer can get into a PAX program like this and be lost for a while (I am!).. especially if there are customizations... i feel that my code can easily be understood by anyone with rslogix5000 experience. **14:41 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755121313831769):** just my perspective. **14:43 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755121395222909):** that's why I'm still open to it. This is what I know and it makes sense to me. But long term your AOIs could be more supportable, as rockwell continues to develop away from V4 which is already years old. **14:44 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755121463487009):** I feel like a look under the hood of what you got going on would prove your point. the PAX objects under the hood are so hard to understand and troubleshoot **14:44 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755121475840929):** yes they are. **14:45 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755121507044309):** I've done everything myself for 10+ years, so this option is very new lol **14:45 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755121535933279):** they are a great set of tools when matched with the Factorytalk graphics i believe. or they can be if used properly. **14:45 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755121555127039):** you made it work! its very impresive actually **14:46 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755121598727469):** But they are a herd of cats to kept wrangled. so the idea of well trained simple dogs sounds wonderful **14:47 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755121629498239):** yes.. exactly! great way to visualize it haha **14:47 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755121674693849):** Another benefit I would assume is how little memory yours use. **14:48 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755121689290889):** I'm out of room on a 2mb controller for Monterey **14:51 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755121916765939):** yep. another bonus. **15:00 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755122423166759):** ![[F09ADPDM1GU_image.png]] **15:00 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755122433095179):** ignore if you have no input or are busy.. im just gonna keep posting screenshots **15:00 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755122440214289):** Yes that makes sense to me **15:01 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755122491290449):** im not sure how to make the clickplate activate the wells tab.. i put the tab name in the clickplate parameters.. need to figure that out **15:08 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755122889051939):** Yeah it's some trickery done by Artek programmers. **15:08 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755122934182329):** i have other ways to make it happen. so if we hit a road block there we can get it going. **15:24 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755123879411479):** ![[F09ADRXCATW_image.png]] **15:25 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755123901443609):** what do you think about the wells tab having its own subset of tabs for the wells? or just put them all as main tabs across the top? **15:25 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755123923586789):** not sure if i can make it look how i was thinking yet.. the tabcontainer has that border that i dont like **15:40 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755124801267579):** that makes sense to me, technically SR3 and SR4 are also wells, so just change the verbage to SSWF (stands for the San Simeon Well Field) **15:44 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755125055453449):** ![[F09AA5HH41Y_screenshot_2025-08-13_at_3.43.28___pm.png]] ![[F09AA5J9XA6_screenshot_2025-08-13_at_3.43.41___pm.png]] **15:48 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755125333329489):** ![[F099XV9A0R5_image.png]] **15:51 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755125480641389):** I have meetings until 8 tonight. i will try to pick up again tomorrow **15:55 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755125718486609):** Yeah, including SR3 and 4 make sense **15:55 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755125757831749):** You could group boosters (leimert, stuart/rodeo (i think they will have a combined view)) as well **16:00 [andy](https://slack.com/archives/C08TVA84PD4/p1755126010589129):** Thanks for your work on it today! Feels good!
