**11:46 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769456815955609):** What would it take for Autosys to setup text, email, and phone call alerts for an Ignition system with internet connectivity?
**11:47 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769456857429909):** there are a couple options.
**11:47 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769456865663169):** well im sure there are lots of options. but a couple good ones come to mind
**11:54 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769457251855079):** • Email (baseline / backup): Ignition native SMTP
• SMS: Twilio
• Mobile app + push + SMS + voice: SIGNL4
• On-site voice: Grandstream
• Off-site / on-call voice: Twilio
**11:54 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769457259236379):** here is a 30,000 ft view
**12:02 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769457778423969):** how critical are these alarms?
**12:24 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769459042544139):** Twilio could not get their shit together for me (I think the request from "Google" triggered the wrong alarm bells internally at Twilio), so if you know how let's get it done. I am currently using a basic gmail to send outgoing email, and it emails itself, the self email triggers a Zapier script that sends texts. I don't think it has voice options. It might if you look into it.
**12:24 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769459065278899):** The alarms are all made in Ignition, but may need better text to do voice calls.
**12:25 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769459104496899):** I have just gotten confirmation that this task is Priority 0, so I could get you working as early as this afternoon.
**13:00 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769461219789029):** If you want full control of the voice calls I suggest using a Grandstream.
We have had good luck so far with SIGNL4. They have app, txt, and voice. It is a monthly service.
Want us to setup a trial of SIGNL4 for you?
**13:14 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769462092592759):** Yes
**13:16 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769462165204129):** what is the annual cost?
**13:35 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769463344436369):** does Mason have any time this week?
**14:19 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769465965910989):** yes he has time
**14:24 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466261628989):** $108, $180, $300 per user per year depending on options
![[F0AAMK6ETGF_image.png]]
**14:24 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466289983889):** What is a user?
**14:25 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466354260459):** one user per login
**14:28 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466494609379):** what do we need to make calls using Grandstream? Should I order a device?
**14:28 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466521468079):** you need a phone line
**14:29 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466548044369):** and I'm not sure what direct calling functions that Ignition has. @Mason Radke will have more info
**14:29 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466556894609):** Ok
**14:29 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466560745499):** might need Win911
**14:29 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466597253179):** Signl4 has a free version if you just want alerts via push to the app
**14:30 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466653431909):** No. Apparently we NEED phone calls, as our expensive 24/7 on call staff cannot be expected to respond to text messages and emails.
**14:31 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466696722539):** Alarms are not life and death, but lack of response can cost a lot of money in wasted materials and time.
**14:31 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466707007929):** Twillio and signl4 will make calls without hardware. But it's dependent on internet being available
**14:32 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466753778579):** yeah we discussed those. he's leaning toward a Grandstream
**14:33 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466813763069):** Grandstream may need to be a P1 solution. Right now I want to get on call staff a call if any alarm is generated.
**14:33 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466831091879):** P0 is to get outgoing calls setup ASAP.
**14:34 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466858069069):** Signl4 is fastest path to calls. We can have it calling this afternoon
**14:35 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466937625539):** Ok. I can get you remote access at your convenience. I will just give you details to login to the gmail account and Two Factor you in.
**14:35 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769466951547019):** Remote Access is via Chrome RDP
**14:38 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769467117285599):** We can go ahead and get the base subscription going, you should be able to just invoice it to Anderson as a line item in addition to labor.
**14:42 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769467342658779):** do you want an annual so there isn't a monthly?
**14:42 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769467353169209):** Yes
**14:42 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769467374220319):** Does ignition have smtp server settings in there?
**14:43 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769467400908809):** I think it does for the email alerts
**14:43 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769467401040369):** We can do it with API calls if needed. But email triggers are quickest.
**14:43 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769467426561689):** Ok. I think someone wrote an ignition module where we just plug in our API key. I tested it a while back. It worked good.
**14:43 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769467435472509):** We can try both
**14:44 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769467446461109):** Whatever works.
**14:44 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769467450335139):** K
**14:50 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769467833923929):** Full ignition? Or edge?
**14:55 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769468108174879):** @Kevin are you creating a SIGNL4 account for them? What email address are you going to use?
**14:56 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769468167540129):** I can. I don't know what email address I should use. Maybe Renos?
**14:57 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769468262589129):** @Reno Hiltermann do you want me to use your email address for the Signl4 account?
**14:58 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769468295888299):** Ful Ignition
**14:59 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769468357514269):** use the shared facilities gmail

**14:59 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769468379749249):** you have access to this email?
**14:59 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769468382977659):** I'll need to log into the signl4 account once it's set up
**15:00 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769468415784829):** I do and I gave Mason credentials
**15:00 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769468426644169):** I just have to 2FA him in.
**15:00 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769468458385569):** ok I will setup the Signl4 account using the <mailto:facilityquantum@gmail.com|facilityquantum@gmail.com>

**15:05 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769468730416969):** @Mason Radke do you have creds to check this email account?

**15:06 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769468761974059):** ok I think you can go ahead and set things up. they have a trial account, so it should make calls?
**15:06 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769468777672339):** yes during the trial it is full functionality

**15:07 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769468851708849):** well i was going to authenticate with google, but maybe it makes more sense to create a username and password for signl4 so we dont have to 2fa everytime
**15:07 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769468863958439):** @Kevin did you create a password?

**16:04 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769472296499779):** i dont see a way to blindly enter in a list of phone numbers..

**16:05 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769472333811979):** I believe it. There is a lot of compliance measures to make sure people don't use services to robo advertise
**16:05 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769472353460769):** yeah, i dont see a way around it.. its a good design.. just more work for us to get finished

**16:09 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769472590073239):** Installing app
**16:10 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769472619384389):** ok.. twillio has a tighter integration, but i have not set one up end to end.. and you said you had issues with them?
**16:10 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769472658539099):** (the app is actually pretty nice to have on the phone in addition to getting voice calls. some neat features)
**16:11 [Reno Hiltermann](https://slack.com/archives/C0A56N14A5S/p1769472670675969):** I could not get a number to text/call from.
