# PlatnPax Alarm Builder Alarm descriptions in Win911
Need to figure out how we need to go about changing the alarm descriptions that Win911 uses for the voice announcements.

My understanding is Win911 uses the Message in FT A&E. Those messages are built by the alarm builder tool using the descriptions in the faceplates
Current Alarm Builder Project is in Box\South County\ALARMS

Connect to PLC and 'Save' to upload the latest tag values into the offline file. (this will take the changes made on SCADA faceplates and save them into the .ACD file)-
copy this file to the scada server to a temp folder (Alarm builder tool works better from the scada server. something about permissions or connecting to certain project folders) If reconfiguring alarm builder xml files, goto the end for instructions.-
open the PlantPax_Configuration tool using administrator privelages (if updating, skip to -

Skip to step 9 if HMI info is the same as another PLC-

Select SE Distrubuted, Select the Application Name, browse for the project under c:\documents and users\all users\documents\rs view enterprise\SE\HMI Projects\WWTP_HMI-
If HMI Application is the same as the other PLCs, use the copy/paste function (must know the Logix device shortcut name if you do this)

check the controllers you wish to work with.-

first right click and add a folder. The name is not critical, we will clean up on the A&E side after import.

check the alarms you wish to work with and drag them over to your new folder (or existing folder for updating)-

tip- click and drag from the Controller column. only click in Select to select or deselect. -

select, use only tags from process tree then select the A&E server based polling alarms tab and select an output .xml file for it to save to. overwrite is likely the option you will use here, append may be used depending on your import/update methods.

To Update with alarm changes:
Save updated PLC program to ACD Files for Alarm Builder 2 folder.
(note if the program name has changed then you'll have to change the name of the ACD file to match the file name in ACD Files for Alarm Builder)
Copy ACD files (rename if necessary) to ACD Files for Alarm Builder folder
