log showed lots of comm issues with the FFR client, which seems to be causing trouble with the CCT comm as well.
changed these parameters in the MCC AP
Advanced WLAN Settings
Maximum transmission power to 23db from 20
Inactive timout to 240 sec from 60 sec
changed RSLinx communications setup for CCT_2
Connection inactivity timeout from "keep open" to 1024
