# AMWC SCADA Notes:
AMWC SCADA Notes:
-
All RTU's are remote PLCs, they are messaged by the data concentrator in a linear traffic controlled by ladder method. -
Red Lion HMIs in the field with a proprietary comm adapter you are probably familiar with. -
They have a combination of 173, 400, and 900Mhz radio telemetry networks. We were toying with cellular for the last device on a modem/leased line, but that hasn't been switched over yet as far as I know. -
There is a data concentrator (controllogix) that compares field data reads against a ghost copy of the data to see new changes, and synchronizes the changes to SCADA, regardless of whether the new data comes from SCADA or the field. -
The SCADA application is FactoryTalk SE, and if I recall correctly, everything is indirectly addressed, and pretty organized. Armond, the guy before me, did a great job of creating this system, he left very large shoes to fill. -
AMWC has three separate SE runtime licenses, one studio license. One of the computers at the SCADA room (the right one) has studio, and Win911 config software and licenses.-
Whenever changes are made to SE, use application manager to create a backup, store either to a flash drive or the network file storage server, and restore from that backup file on the other two machines, and everything should work. -
Their in house IT guy has been good to work with and is very capable. -
Nothing else I've seen is very unique, the IP schemes and addresses are all documented and I've maintained any changes along the way.
Best of luck,
Andy Thomson
