**15:32 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763681578246919):** Holy crap!
**15:33 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763681586718749):** That gets me excited let’s go
**16:03 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763683399927699):** although we may just put an AENTR on the existing IO. it looks like this:

**16:04 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763683444829399):** the problem here is that we have to shut down the whole plant to do the switchover.
**16:05 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763683516824499):** If we go with new IO, we can put the PLC in a new box and wire over one tank at a time. This might make the programming more difficult though? Running 2 plc's at the same time. I guess no big deal other than having to remap all IO in FTView
**16:07 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763683636581869):** Are you leaning one way or the other?
**16:07 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763683676429709):** I'm leaning toward reusing the IO cards. It would be more stress though to get it cut over in a short amount of time
**16:09 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763683760078059):** We could do as much work ahead of time before we swap over. mapping things
**16:10 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763683829228489):** We have all of this to contend with

**16:10 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763683854986659):** I’m not scared
**16:11 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763683915243709):** we are converting this program to the new 5069 processor, which will require remapping all IO. I'm not sure how that translates to the comms with the other PLCs.
**16:12 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763683940657519):** Then what are we going to have to do with FT?
**16:13 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763684003364099):** If the tag names are the same, we should just have to update the shortcut
**16:13 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763684029343829):** If we really do need to make big changes, we can do it in a new application and go live with that one when we switch over
**16:13 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763684039625829):** Or something like that
**16:17 [Kevin](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763684248484069):** My gut says to use the new IO and cut over one tank at a time. Nice and controlled. But I think that is because I'm more comfortable with the hard IO conversion, having never done a soft conversion to a remote IO option
**16:18 [Mason Radke](https://slack.com/archives/C08HMJX8J4F/p1763684306788139):** Let me think about all of this a little bit more
